Stories
- Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, King and Queen of Ethiopia. Perseus saved Andromeda from the sea monster Cetus. Pegasus the winged horse sprung up from the blood of Medusa after Perseus killed her.
- Ophiuchus was the first physician and learned the secret of bringing the dead back to life from snakes whispering in his ear. He now holds Serpens the snake which is split into Serpens Caput, the head, and Serpens Cauda, the tail. The snake twisted around a staff remains the symbol of medicine today.
- Cygnus dove into the Eridanus River to save a friend and was turned into a swan in the heavens.
- Hercules fought Centaurus the centaur, Leo the lion, and Hydra the snake. During the battle with Hyrda, Cancer the crab was sent to distract Hercules.
- Lycaon doubted Zeus' divinity and was turned into Lupus the wolf. Zeus fell in love with Lycaon's daughter Callisto and they had a son, Arcas. In order to protect them from Hera, Zeus changed Callisto and Arcas into the bears Ursa Major and Ursa Minor and carried them into the heavens. Annoyed at this honor, Hera convinced Poseidon not to allow the bears to bathe in the sea. For this reason, they never sink below the horizon.
- Canes Venatici are the hunting dogs of Bootes.
- Canis Major and Canis Minor are the dogs of Orion, the hunter, and are ready to pounce on Lepus, the hare situated at Orion's feet. Scorpius was sent to kill Orion and are now as far apart as possible to avoid further troubles.
